Mission Statement

Rooted in Christ, Emanuel Lutheran School partners with families supporting the

spiritual and educational development of children.

Chapel Theme - "Take Heart"

The theme for this school year is “Take Heart” based on John 16:33. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. TAKE HEART! I have overcome the world.” In these times we do need to “Take Heart” in all Christ has done for us.  We have been focusing on some of the promises that help us to Take Heart.

Save the Date the Harvest Carnival is coming soon! “Trunk or Treat”
Emanuel Lutheran School will be hosting our annual Harvest Carnival on Sunday, October 25 from 3-4 pm in the parking lot. This event will look quite different due to some of the COVID restrictions that are in place.  We will be in the parking lot with a plethora of trunks and tailgates decorated in a variety of styles.  We hope the students can come out and have some fun!

News in the 5th and 6th Grade Classroom:
We are working on some poster contest work. The first one is from the Hamburg Fire Department and is for Fire Safety Week. The students are creating posters based on the theme: Serve up Safety in the Kitchen.

The other contest work comes from the Lions Club. Each student is creating a poster based on the theme: Peace through Service. This contest is interesting because, although you may use any art medium to create your poster, you are not able to put any words or numbers on it.

We have been playing, Six-Base, in P.E. It is a game much like kickball. The tricky, interesting difference is, the students run the base path in reverse. They love this game!

There are also many academic, learning opportunities. We are practicing long division, greatest common factor, and least common multiple in Math. Vowel sounds are our current topic in Spelling. Parts-of-Speech are what we are concentrating on in Language. Religion has us discussing some of our favorite heroes of the Old Testament which leads us to a reminder of the blessing of grace we receive being children of God. What a blessing the gift of grace is in our lives.

Do you have a 529 Plan? Are you a parent or grandparent of a young child?

The new tax code has changed rules about 529 College Savings Plans.  The funds are now eligible to be used for education from Kindergarten through college.  There are actually advantages to using the funds before college.  Please contact Mr. Bentz to find out about the advantages if you have an existing plan.  If you have a new youngster in your family, contact Mr. Bentz to find out reasons to get one started.  Mr. Bentz is not an expert and will not give investment advice, he simply hopes to let you know about some new options.

Tuition Assistance Fund

Each year many of our Emanuel students benefit from tuition assistance.  If you would like to make a donation toward this fund, please contact Mr. Bentz.  Any size gift will help.  Our hope is that family finances will not keep any student from hearing the Gospel here at Emanuel.

Amazon Smile

If you shop on Amazon, you can help Emanuel as well.  If you go to you can sign up to support Emanuel Lutheran School.  The shopping experience is the same as a typical visit to Amazon, but we receive a percentage of your purchase.  If you have questions, please talk to Mr. Bentz.

Scrip Makes Cents

The Scrip Program helps raise money for our PTL by selling gift cards and certificates. The Scrip fund receives a discount when purchasing these cards/certificates, then sells them at face value. You pay nothing extra and PTL receives thousands of dollars a year. It’s that simple! Scrip will be sold on all Sundays and communion Saturdays after church.  We will be sending home an updated list of all available Scrip soon.  If you have questions, please contact Greg Cummins.
