Mission Statement

Rooted in Christ, Emanuel Lutheran School partners with families supporting the

spiritual and educational development of children.

Chapel Theme - "Take Heart"

The theme for this school year is “Take Heart” based on John 16:33. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. TAKE HEART! I have overcome the world.” In these times we do need to “Take Heart” in all Christ has done for us.  We have been focusing on some of the promises that help us to Take Heart.

40 Year Milestone

Mrs. Mackenthun joined the Emanuel staff in January of 1981.  She is now celebrating her 40th anniversary here at Emanuel.  We are thankful for the gifts God has given to Mrs. M., but we are more thankful for her willingness to share those blessings with the students of Emanuel through these years.  Her dedication to her Lord and Savior has made an amazing difference in the lives of her students! We praise God for Mrs. M.!

Due to COVID, the Silent Auction committee has decided to move forward with a Drive-Thru Meal on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 3-6 pm. The “to-go” meal will include a smoked pork chop with sides and cake. Advance tickets can already be purchased from the students at Emanuel Lutheran School or after church on Wednesdays and Sundays for $12.00. There will only be a limited number of tickets available the day of the event for $15.00, so be sure to get your tickets in advance. We have added the option to receive “free” tickets with a donation to Emanuel Lutheran School. Those who have supported the Silent Auction in the past with auction items may want to prayerfully consider sharing a monetary gift with our school this year. Donors will receive 2 “free” tickets with a $250 donation, 4 “free” tickets with a $500 donation, and 8 “free” tickets with a $1,000 donation. This is a great opportunity to support the education and ministry at Emanuel Lutheran School during these challenging times.

7th and 8th Grade News

The 7th and 8th graders have been working hard and having fun learning.  In Confirmation the students are studying the Ten Commandments.  They are also practicing their questions to get ready for Confirmation Questioning.  The students are reading The Giver for literature class.  It is a joy to hear them discuss this attempt at designing a utopian society.  For Geography the students have recently been studying the area of the Middle East North Africa.  Those discussions tie in neatly with our study of the history of the Christian Church.  In Algebra they are tacking the concepts behind polynomials and quadratic equations.  This is the first time they have looked at these types of functions.  Pre-Algebra students are studying percents and their application to some monetary situation.  Our study of Physical Science is currently looking at the effects of forces on the world around us.  Sir Isaac Newton has been a topic of some of our discussions.  In all these things, the students are blessed and excited to be IN school together.  We are thankful for the blessings from God!

Third Quarter Chapel Offerings

As we begin 3rd Quarter, our chapel offerings will be going to Heifer International. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase one heifer.  To make that happen, we need $500 in chapel donations.  The milk helps feed children and the fertilizer is used to help the farm raise more crops.

Do you have a 529 Plan? Are you a parent or grandparent of a young child?

The new tax code has changed rules about 529 College Savings Plans.  The funds are now eligible to be used for education from Kindergarten through college.  There are actually advantages to using the funds before college.  Please contact Mr. Bentz to find out about the advantages if you have an existing plan.  If you have a new youngster in your family, contact Mr. Bentz to find out reasons to get one started.  Mr. Bentz is not an expert and will not give investment advice, he simply hopes to let you know about some new options.

Tuition Assistance Fund

Each year many of our Emanuel students benefit from tuition assistance.  If you would like to make a donation toward this fund, please contact Mr. Bentz.  Any size gift will help.  Our hope is that family finances will not keep any student from hearing the Gospel here at Emanuel.

Amazon Smile

If you shop on Amazon, you can help Emanuel as well.  If you go to you can sign up to support Emanuel Lutheran School.  The shopping experience is the same as a typical visit to Amazon, but we receive a percentage of your purchase.  If you have questions, please talk to Mr. Bentz.

Scrip Makes Cents

The Scrip Program helps raise money for our PTL by selling gift cards and certificates. The Scrip fund receives a discount when purchasing these cards/certificates, then sells them at face value. You pay nothing extra and PTL receives thousands of dollars a year. It’s that simple! Scrip will be sold on all Sundays and communion Saturdays after church.  We will be sending home an updated list of all available Scrip soon.  If you have questions, please contact Greg Cummins.
