Lutheran Special Education Ministries (LSEM)
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”
1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Emanuel Lutheran School partners with Lutheran Special Education Ministries to offer a Resource Room called "The Treehouse." Here students receive individualized and small group instruction that best fit their learning needs. Through LSEM whole class instruction is also provided centering around building the skills of our students as lifelong learners and teaching conflict/resolution skills from the Peacemakers Toolbox Curriculum. Acadience Reading Screenings are given to each student in kindergarten through grade 8 to monitor student progress and allow for interventions as well as reteaching to grow reading fluency and comprehension. Our LSEM teacher collaborates with teachers, parents, and specialized teachers from our local public school when necessary to help meet the learning needs of students at Emanuel Lutheran School and help them build their "tool box" for life.
