Greetings from the Primary Room! Enjoy this recap of the month of September.
September was an eventful month for a variety of reasons.
First and foremost, we warmly welcomed all our friends back to school! With new students joining our class, it was a wonderful time for everyone to get acquainted.
We kicked off the month with Picture Day! This age is so sweet, as the students still get excited about dressing up and posing for their photos!
A new addition to our classroom this year is the Mystery Reader program. Every Wednesday, we invite a Mystery Reader to share a story with us. At the beginning of the week, the students receive clues about who their reader might be. Our readers often include parents, grandparents, neighbors, and community members. We are fortunate to have such a supportive community, as we have every Wednesday booked until March!
September also marked our chapel month. This allowed our class to assist our teachers, Mrs. Flygare and Mrs. Wilson, with their chapel messages. The students eagerly participate by leading the invocation, closing with the blessing song, and serving as ushers for the offering.
In religion, we explored some of our beloved bible stories: The Story of Creation, Adam and Eve, Father Abraham, and Joseph and His Coat. Students love learning about these stories because they make connections to these real-life characters who become an inspiration and guide in their faith walk throughout their lives. In Luke 18:16, we are reminded of the significance of sharing God's word with our children: "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God."
Additionally, we launched our K-1 and 2-3 soccer teams! We were lucky to host all our games on our beautiful Emanuel campus, welcoming teams from nearby schools to compete against us for six consecutive Saturdays. Throughout the season, the students showcased significant improvement, sportsmanship, and above all, had a fantastic time.
Your friends in Christ,
